The prices in the sector on August 21

Presentation of EnergyTrend : The market maintains its wait-and-see attitude. Trading has been less intense in recent weeks, but this has not affected prices. For the time being, it seems that prices have stopped falling. A rebound may occur if demand picks up again. The longer demand is delayed, the more pressure manufacturers will be under when the wave of installations comes at the end of the year. There would also be more price uncertainty.

Silicon :

According to EnergyTrend The price of polysilicon remains stable. Supply and demand are balanced this week. The overall price for abroad is revised downwards due to the continuous depreciation of the Chinese renminbi (RMB). However, the domestic market shows no significant change in supply and demand. Orders already registered are shipped. The supply of silicon to the market will increase in September due to new capacity coming on stream and the resumption of production of certain furnaces after their maintenance period. Prices for overseas are between $8.80 and $9.80 / kg, with an average price of $9.12 / kg. The average world price is lowered to $9.01 / kg.

According to PV InfoLink Prices remain unchanged. Next week there will be the announcement of the quotations for September. As there will be an increase in supply compared to August, prices will depend on the extent of demand for silicon.

Wafers :

According to EnergyTrend The market is still stable this week. The price of multisilicon wafers is close to the cost price, preventing a new fall. Demand for monosilicon is stable: the large manufacturers are benefiting from long-term contracts, while the smaller manufacturers are struggling to sell

According to PV InfoLink There has been no marked change in the platelets over the last few days. New prices will be announced next week. Manufacturers are moving back from monosilicon to multicrystalline, the price of monosilicon wafers should decrease or remain stable. Zhonghuan Solar and Longi have led second-tier producers to reduce wafer prices, which could be around 3.05 RMB/unit.

Multi-Si wafer prices this week have remained stable compared to the previous week. In September, prices for Multi-Si wafers will see no change in China and will record a drop of less than 0.005 USD / unit for foreign markets. If the market behaves better than expected in September, multi-Si wafers will be more likely than mono-Si to resist price drops.

cells :

According to EnergyTrend The cell market is recovering after the sharp drop in prices in the previous weeks. For foreign countries, the price range for general multi-Si cells remains unchanged at 0.104 to 0.123 USD / W. The price range for general mono-Si cells remains unchanged at 0.105 ~ 0.115 USD / W. The price range for high efficiency mono-Si cells remains unchanged at 0.131 ~ 0.150 $ / W. The price range for higher efficiency mono-Si cells (> 21.5%) remains unchanged at $0.125 ~ $0.190 / W.

According to PV InfoLink : After their sharp fall in the first half of the year, PERC cell prices are close to their lows. However, some panel manufacturers are still demanding a reduction. Cell manufacturers are resisting as they expect demand to pick up again in September. They are awaiting the outcome of the negotiations. There is a slight drop in the price of cells for foreign markets due to the depreciation of the yuan; they are trading between 0.122 and 0.125 USD / W.

The cell producers have quoted PERC single-sided and bifacial cells at the same price. However, as the bifacial products are mainly supplied by leading manufacturers, their market price is slightly higher.

the panels :

According to EnergyTrend The wait-and-see attitude continues. Commodity prices do not change much. In the overseas market, the price range for general multisilicon (270 - 275 W) remains unchanged at 0.205 ~ 0.248 USD / W. The price range for high-efficiency multisilicon (280-285W) remains unchanged at 0.216 ~ 0.220 USD / W. The price range of general monosilicon (290-295W) remains unchanged at 0.235 ~ 0.251USD / W. The price range for high efficiency monosilicon (300-305W) remains unchanged at 0.265 ~ 0.330 USD / W.

According to PV InfoLink : Despite the PV projects proposed in late August, the demand for panels in early September may not be as dynamic as expected. The peak season is likely to occur in mid-September. It seems that the use of mono-Si products will be higher than multi-Si products in the auctioned projects. However, the change in panel prices in the fourth quarter depends on when demand occurs.
