1 GW installed in Africa by 2022, bringing the total to 10 GW
Solar installations across Africa reached 949 MW in 2022, bringing cumulative capacity to over 10 GW, according to the African Solar Industry Association (AFSIA).
In 2022, Angola was the largest African installer, commissioning two major projects and a total of 284 MW, pushing the usual leaders South Africa and Egypt into second and third place.
