40% of RE in 2030 in India

India announces its objective to have 40% of its electricity production from renewable energies by 2030, and to reduce carbon intensity in its gross domestic product by 33 to 35%. This is India's contribution to the COP21 climate conference, but will require US$2.5 billion to implement its climate change actions by 2030.
RE would increase from 35 GW today to 175 GW in 2022, of which 100 GW would be solar.
