170 MW to be built in Morocco by Saudi ACWA and Chinese Chint

The Moroccan Solar Energy Agency (MASEN) has chosen the Saudi engineering company ACWA Power and the Chinese group Chint to develop three solar power plants with a combined capacity of 170 MW as part of the NOOR PV I project in Morocco.

This is the first solar photovoltaic phase of the NOOR solar plan, which has already seen three major Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) projects in Ouarzazate.
With ACWA Power leader and Chint providing technical support, the two companies will design, finance, build, operate and maintain the NOOR PV I programme, having been selected through an international call for proposals.
The electricity feed-in tariff will be set at 0.46 MAD/kWh (0.046 USD) or 0.0422 €/kWh
