US solar system installers need to renew their offer

The rental of solar systems has allowed installations at home for owners who could not afford to pay the initial cost. In 2008, the average price was over $8/watt. In 2016, it is close to $3.50/Watt. With this decrease, applicants for a solar project prefer to pay for the installation themselves.

rather than renting. Thus, the percentage of those who choose third party ownership fell to 55% in the United States in the second half of 2015. The fall will continue in the coming years, as on online forums this rate falls to 4%!
Now installation companies must innovate again.
Rental or purchase prices are simple, guarantee maintenance and leave the owner a margin of 10 to 30% of the installation product. In the case of direct borrowing, the percentage rises to between 40% and 80%. Administrative formalities are now simplified.
Leasing companies should reduce their tariffs, indexation clauses and increase consumer confidence in their solar investment. They can also shorten the lease period, which is usually 20 years, and offer flexible termination options comparable to a bank loan, as well as a choice between mid-range and high-end panels. Without these adaptations, installation companies will see individuals turn away and install their own live system.
