New optimisation method for heat pumps

Chinese scientists have developed a new optimisation method for medium-depth ground source heat pumps,

using better optimisation of chaos particle swarms. They coupled it with either a heat storage tank or a shallow borehole heat exchanger and found that both types of system increased the coefficient of performance of the heat pump.
