Meetings in France on Energy-Climate and reindustrialisation

Working groups made up of elected representatives, experts and industry federations will be tasked with putting forward proposals for France's future energy strategy.

and to prepare the energy-climate programming bill due in the autumn.

The themes of each group are energy sobriety, energy efficiency, electricity production and power systems, heat production and other low-carbon energies, innovation and the energy transition in non-interconnected areas.systems, the production of heat and other low-carbon energies, innovation and the energy transition in non-interconnected areas. The seventh group will bring together the six other groups, in a cross-cutting approach.

Four meetings will be held in June and July before the proposals are submitted to the Minister at the end of September.

The working group for the reindustrialisation of renewable energy production has met for a second time with the Minister for Energy Transition and the Minister for Industry. They announced a number of measures to speed up the reindustrialisation of renewable energy, including a Solar Pact for reindustrialization pact, a "made in France & made in Europe" solar label, and an "Energy Transition Schools" label.

The ministers also announced a new investment in France for industrial solar production, the France 2030 award. This project, supported by Voltec Solar and the Institut Photovoltaïque d'Île-de-France, aims to develop and industrialise a pilot production line for tandem perovskite/silicon photovoltaic cells.

Editor's note From the outside, as we were not invited to such a meeting, it seems to be all talk, words and assertions, but nothing more. How can we speed up the "reindustrialisation of renewable industries" if we don't know what we want, or what we want to reindustrialise?

What can the announced reindustrialisation pact achieve? First of all, with what material and financial resources? To do what? Who is going to reindustrialise? The companies? They expect everything from the State! The State? But it doesn't have any money to hand out, and above all it doesn't have a strategic vision (starting with which activity? How can you develop a sector if only one part of the production is operational?) Create a new label? What for? Who are we going to label? The few French panel manufacturers? They don't need it because we know who they are. Equipment manufacturers? They know how to slip into conversations that they produce 'French' and are recognised as competent with reliable products (otherwise, they would have disappeared a long time ago).
