Electricity prices continue to fall in Germany

After falling by 10% between March and April, the German "solar market value" continues to decline to

8.002 euro cents.

This amount, determined by the four German transmission system operators, represents the average income from trading electricity from PV systems subsidised under the country's Renewable Energy Act (EEG). This value is still well above the level that existed before the dramatic increase in electricity trading prices that began in autumn 2021.

The market value is the benchmark for payments for the production of photovoltaic power plants under the direct sales system. This is mandatory from 100 kilowatts upwards. There are currently 22 gigawatts registered for this. 37% of Germany's cumulative PV capacity is marketed directly.
