New sodium-sulphur battery: more powerful, less expensive, more profitable

A Sino-Australian team has created a new sodium-sulphur battery with an energy capacity of

four times greater than that of lithium-ion batteries; it would be cheaper to produce and would considerably reduce energy storage costs.

Until now, sodium-sulphur batteries have been considered an inferior alternative. Their widespread use has been limited by low energy capacity and short life cycles.
