French company Unéol has combined wind and solar power for a rooftop installation

French company Unéol has combined wind and solar power for a rooftop installation. The silent unit can produce 40% more energy than stand-alone rooftop solar panels. This solution is suitable for

flat-roofed buildings higher than 10 metres. The higher they are, the less wind disturbance there is.

The system consists of a scalable galvanised steel structure with a row of 2,000 W wind turbines topped with solar panels, with a total height of about 4 metres.

For a system installed on a 1,000 m² roof, the company estimates the total cost at €300,000 to €500,000. This price includes the cost of the solar panels, wind turbines, steel structure, cabling and project studies carried out by Unéole.

Unéole plans to market and install the first hybrid solution by the end of 2023 in France.
