Silicon

New production capacity is brought on stream. As a result, the production volume will increase in October compared to September. Bank holidays (1 October)

The price of mono-grade silicon remains at RMB 303-306/kg.

The price of mono-grade silicon remains at RMB 303-306/kg. Sporadic orders are signed at higher prices, but the overall price range is gradually stabilising. The silicon price increase is losing momentum. Buyers are increasingly reluctant to accept increases.

Wafers :

LONGi has updated its price list. They remain unchanged in RMB terms, but are down 2.2% in dollar terms.

The price of mono-Si wafers of quality a is maintained. However, the low price range of 182 mm products accentuates its weakness.

The shortage of 210mm wafer supply will continue in the short term. The supply of 182 mm continues to grow more rapidly. As a result, the supply/demand relationships for wafers in the two main formats are moving in opposite directions. The price of a-grade wafers (the best) is temporarily stabilising. The price differentiation between a- and non-a-grade 182 mm wafers will intensify in October.

Cells :

Cell manufacturers are expanding their business to include panel production. Cell production is being matched to panel production. External cell sales are decreasing.

The selling price has not rebounded as sharply as the prices indicated. It is 1.31 RMB/W for M6 cells, 1.31-1.32 RMB/W for M10 cells and 1.31 RMB/W for G12 cells. However, cell manufacturers, expecting further price increases next week, are reluctant to ship at the current price level. Manufacturers are actively shipping to overseas markets as the RMB falls against the dollar,

M6 cells, which are in short supply and short demand, are seeing a widening gap between the high and low price ranges. The price of M10 cells is rising as increasing demand clashes with already limited supply. G12 cell prices are rising as cell manufacturers become more self-sufficient.

Panels:

Glass-glass panels over 500W are delivered at RMB 1.98-2.01/W this week, with a price difference of RMB 0.01-0.03/W compared to glass-foil panels.

Cell price increases are eroding the profits generated by lower BOM prices. Some panel manufacturers are prepared to increase their prices. The low price range is already showing a slight increase.

In China, the ground projects that will start in the fourth quarter will support demand. In this context, panel manufacturers are raising prices from initial prices of 1.9-1.93 RMB/W, approaching third quarter levels at 1.93-1.95 RMB/W.

In overseas markets, prices continue to decline slowly, reaching $0.25-0.27/W.
