Shell sets up in India
Shell acquires Sprng Energy for $1.5 billion. Sprng Energy has 2.9 GWp in operation.
and 7.5 GWp in projects in India. The deal triples Shell's existing renewable capacity, which will increase its position in a market where the Indian government has set a target of producing 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
In January 2022, Shell acquired 100% of photovoltaic project developer Solar-Konzept Italia, increasing its solar development pipeline in Italy to 2 GW.
