Equipment manufacturer Giordano recovers and supplies solar thermal energy
For 40 years, Giordano has specialised in the development of equipment for the recovery and supply of solar thermal energy for buildings and industrial processes.
It has developed a solar system coupled with unglazed collectors to provide hot water, heating and cooling 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Solar-Pump® heat production is guaranteed 365 days a year, despite random sunshine, because the system is designed for the least favourable day of the year. The collector surfaces and storage volumes are small, despite the fact that the thermal output is much higher than with glazed collectors. The thermal collectors are designed to be superimposed with photovoltaic panels, which increases the efficiency of solar energy collection for the same surface area, not forgetting that one kW of photovoltaic energy produces 3 kW of thermal energy.
Solar-Pump® provides a 100% renewable kWh at around seven euro cents, with a payback period of between five and six years. It is particularly recommended for use in hotels, social housing, industrial laundries and dairies where hot water requirements are high.
