Photovoltaic and thermal panels from FHE Group and SolarMaster

French company FHE Group has developed a 2.5 kWh storage device capable of storing electricity in the form of heat during the day and releasing it at night to power a heat pump for heating and hot water. The system retains 95% of its initial performance after 20,000 cycles.

This is a residential thermo-chemical energy storage system that can be coupled with solar energy production to provide space heating and hot water for a household.

Editor's note concerning photovoltaic and thermal panels (DualSun and SolarMaster): what's the point of having heating in summer at night, when you'll need it the following winter?

The Chinese company SolarMaster has developed a photovoltaic panel (see title photo) with an output of 340 to 545 W. It is coupled to a thermal collector with an output of 910 to 1,436 watts, made up of a liquid. This has an efficiency of 70%.

Editor's note: DualSun manufactures panels that are quite similar. Is it the same technology? Do they have the same photovoltaic and thermal efficiency? Is it for the same applications? It would be very interesting to compare

It's all a question of the price of these panels and their contribution to the well-being of a building. It makes more sense to have a dual-production panel than one that only produces electricity. Provided you can transfer the energy produced during the summer to the winter, i.e. when you need heating and hot water. Heating in summer is of little use. We always come up against the problem of long-life energy storage.
