Too many residential installations will create problems in Australia
More than a quarter of Australian homes already have rooftop solar panels. By 2040, distributed resources could account for
50% of the network. This creates too much production in the middle of the day and therefore concerns about grid security. The distribution networks have imposed stricter export limits - down to zero in some parts of the country. They have demanded more revenue to cover their costs of integrating distributed resources
Should solar owners pay to feed into the grid? Some reject the idea. Others see it as inevitable. The debate is open.
