Self-consumption in France in the first quarter of 2021, according to Enedis

In thefirst quarter of 2021, Enedis had more than 100,000 customers connected for individual self-consumption, with a capacity of 546 MW. To these connections must be added

nearly one hundred collective self-consumption operations active or to be launched during 2021. Self-consumption uses 99.5% of solar photovoltaic energy. The share of installations with storage represents almost 28% of the market. It was 10% in 2019.

Residential installations of less than 9 kW accounted for 85% of the number of newly connected units

By 2023, 200,000 self-consumption sites were to be connected.

In more than 90% of cases, Enedis observes, "the connection of self-consumption installations takes place at a customer already connected to the electricity distribution network. Commissioning is then carried out within 24 to 48 hours on request and by remote operation thanks to the smart meter. Linky is equipped with two-way metering functions, so a single meter is now sufficient for self-consumption.
