In France, the law against telephone solicitation is now in force.

From now on, "any commercial canvassing of consumers by professionals, by telephone, with the aim of selling equipment or carrying out work on housing with a view to achieving energy savings or producing renewable energy is prohibited".

Since the beginning of September, telephone canvassing in the energy renovation sector - and for the sale of photovoltaic panels - has been banned. According to the GPPEP, "This is a good measure for citizens, but in reality it is not certain that there will be major differences. "But despite the ban and increased fines - 75,000 euros for individuals (previously 3,000 euros) and 375,000 euros for companies (previously 15,000 euros) - the problems of abusive canvassing will not stop. This is because these calls are often made through telephone centres located abroad, and it is impossible to trace them. "These are inaccessible numbers, which cannot be called back or traced. Bloctel has also shown its limits today because it is not a state agency and does not have sufficient financial or human resources to be able to carry out investigations and take sanctions".
