How to reduce the absorption of light by the glass?

British and Swedish scientists have investigated how to reduce the absorption of light by glass.

According to them, it would be sufficient to reduce the concentration of iron oxide in the front glass sheet.

They also claim that doping with bismuth coupled with gadolinium reduces UV transmission and prevents the glass from absorbing visible and near-infrared rays.

Editor's note It is impressive to see the different lines of research that are being carried out. The desire to be more and more specific or pointed in the field of study makes one lose sight of all the aspects of a panel. One then wonders why such a field of study, what it is for and when this research will be put into practice. In the meantime, the diversity of studies is multiplying.
