CRE extends the depopulated geographical area for collective self-consumption

Published on Sunday 28 June 2020 | Article n°326
On 4 June, the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) declared itself in favour of extending the geographical area concerned from 2 km to 20 km to authorise collective self-consumption on condition that
that there is a "character of isolation of the places of the projects considered, dispersion of habitat and low population density of the areas where the projects are envisaged".
CRE does not modify the power criterion so that collective self-consumption operations maintain "contained proportions".

Editor's note This deliberation extends collective self-consumption to low-density or mountainous areas, but there are many restrictions.
