Little sunshine in the Italian auction

Italy's second 2020 call for tenders for 500 MW concluded with the award of 425 MW to wind power and 19 MW to solar power. The solar syndicate Italia Solare

believes that this stems from Italy's ban on subsidising projects on agricultural land and its complex rules on permits.

Italy has set itself the target of increasing its installed solar capacity from the current 20 GW to 50 GW by 2030.
