Prospects for installations in China in 2020
China installed only 4 GW in the first two months of 2020, including 2.5 GW of distributed generation systems. 10 to 12 GW
of solar capacity allocated last year through auctions, will be connected to the grid in 2020. This year will see the installation of tendered projects, residential systems and grid parity projects issued last year. In addition, there will be last year's 1.5 GW Top Runner projects, 3 GW of ultra-high voltage transmission capacity in Qinghai and 7-8 GW of grid parity solar projects.
Thus, Chinese installations should increase in 2020. Commissioning is estimated at 40 GW, compared with 30 GW in 2019.
