Germany and France are changing their solar offerings because of the epidemic
The governments of both countries are responding to the demands of the solar industry. They are adjusting their tendering programmes; they are considering measures to
to avoid financial penalties and loss of incentives due to failure to meet deadlines.
The French government has delayed the dates for the next round of solar tenders. As a result, the procurement cycle for ground-based projects has been split: one exercise will now allocate one third of the planned capacity on 3 July 2020 and another will allocate the balance on 3 November 2020.
"The DGEC has heard our proposal to maintain the July deadline by reducing the volume", explained Xavier Daval, president of the solar commission of the Renewable Energies Union. "The impacts of the coronavirus now concern all operators in the sector: panel manufacturers, developers, manufacturers... But also other players in photovoltaic projects: network operators, administrative services, ecologists... This leads to fears of a significant delay in the normal resumption of activities".
