The Dutch network no longer absorbs RE as well as it used to

After connecting 2.5 GW of photovoltaic power in 2019 (making Holland the 3rd largest in Europe), Dutch photovoltaic developers face new grid connection limits in 2020.

One of the Netherlands' leading grid operators, Liander warns of bottlenecks spreading after a year of record solar additions. He has said in recent days that he is expected to restrict demand for power plant connections again in 2020. He defined orange zones where there are shortages, and red zones where the bottlenecks are most severe and where mitigation measures are not an option but a necessity because the grid needs to be upgraded.
