Enel raises the amount of its investments to earn more
Italy's Enel is increasing its investments by 11% between now and 2022, bringing them to 28 billion euros. Half ( €(+22% on the previous programme) will be in
new renewable energy production capacity. The remainder of this amount will be used to electrify the energy consumption of the utility's retail customers ( €), to digitise and automate networks ( €), to support Enel X ( €). The purpose of these investments is to increase the company's profits.
Last month, Spain's Iberdrola stated that its record investments in renewable energies have created a "virtuous circle of growth" after recording an increase in profits.
