Yet another announcement that silicon prices will soon fall
According to Clean Energy Associates (CEA), the price of solar panels on international markets is set to fall in line with the expected price reductions for silicon from 2023 onwards.
If this is the case, this quality assurance and supply chain management company recommends buying panels two or three quarters ahead of delivery, because the later you buy, the more you will be able to benefit from a fall in prices.

PV Tech of 29 August 2022
Editor's note Yet another consultancy firm that is basing its assertion that silicon prices will fall on numerical forecasts (increased production capacity). This is also what other forecasting institutes have been saying for the past two years! Each time, the forecasts are disproved because the manufacturers have discovered a fabulous opportunity to raise prices and hold international panel buyers hostage.
While Daqo has just stated (see " Daqo takes full advantage of rising silicon prices") that the price of silicon may not fall until the second half of 2023, we can expect the price to fall only from 2024, if at all. The world has too much demand for panels for the raw material to be indispensable and therefore expensive. What's more, silicon manufacturers have no interest in lowering their prices: energy shortages, technical incidents and maintenance stoppages can be expected to justify high prices for this basic product. Prices will only fall once other countries have built up an industrial base. That's why we need to keep an eye on the industrial emergence of India and the United States.
