Researchers in Singapore and Grenoble have developed a methylammonium-free perovskite solar cell with a slot-die coating, an n-i-p arrangement, a fluorine-doped tin oxide substrate, a tin oxide layer, a perovskite film and a hole-blocking layer. It has an efficiency of 18.03%, an open circuit voltage of 1024 mV and a short circuit current density of 22.4 mA/cm².

An international group of researchers have studied heterojunction CdTe solar cells based on antimony selenide backfield layers. They claim that the addition of this compound can increase the efficiency of CdTe cells by about 9% and has the technical potential to achieve efficiencies of over 40%.
