SunPartner applies for receivership

The French SME, which specialises in photovoltaic glass and filed for receivership on 8 January, also wishes to sell its Building and Consumer Electronics businesses. The company is therefore looking for manufacturers

to advance these activities and convert orders into sales. Sales have started, now we need to finance and ensure growth.

This application to the Commercial Court of Aix-en-Provence comes "after several months of unsuccessful discussions with the historical investors (from Sunpartner, editor's note) and with the European Investment Bank".
Sunpartner claims to be working on about a hundred projects representing a potential turnover of around 20 million euros in France and neighbouring countries for 2019 and 2020.

Editor's note Of course, it is to be regretted that such a development in the company and also that Vinci, the partner for the marketing of the photovoltaic window, has not yet come forward to help its associate.

On the other hand, the receivership is not surprising because the production of photovoltaic windows requires mass production to reduce costs. This is a difficult step for a company created around an idea. Research is difficult to reconcile with mass production, even if a production line had been launched in October 2017.

The evolution of this company also stems from the fact that building craftsmen are not very receptive to technical novelty, which needs to spread and be appreciated before it can be adopted .

In an attempt to save itself, SunPartner sold the licence for the invisible photovoltaic film to the Chinese company Truly in October 2017.
This is therefore the second time in a few days (see ViZn) that the Chinese have collected innovations made by Westerners in order to showcase and benefit from them... Would it therefore be difficult to launch innovations and above all to go through the production stage? This is at least the observation that can be made!
