Introduction to PVBAT meetings

The photovoltaic trade group organised a meeting between the building trades and insurers on 13 September.

The President of the GMPV, Mr. Damian, introduced the meeting with the following message.

In the article LE PV is expensive for insurers, hence the willingness to consult, there will be the state of relations between these two professions :

We all note that solar energy has restarted in the building industry, driven by 3 strong evolutions

- Regulatory

o Environmental regulation 2018 (particularly for the tertiary and collective residential sectors)

o Biodiversity law for sales areas (the PV has become almost systematic for obtaining a building permit since 1 March 2017 for any sales area of more than 1,000m²)

o CRE calls for tenders, in order to give a volume that will enable the objectives of the PPE to be achieved by 2023.

- Economical : very strong competitiveness with a downward trend over the last 10 years, which makes this source of electricity production almost at market price (cf analysis C Bozonnat)

- Societal :

o Strong development of self-consumption: the desire of everyone to produce locally all or part of the electricity they consume. Due to the high competitiveness of solar systems, this is cheaper than drawing electricity from the grid.

At the same time, we have received many calls from member companies of the Unions and Trade Unions that make up our Group, who have told us of their increasing difficulty in obtaining insurance.

This observation is confirmed by the project of observation of the solar sector by the C2P of the AQC.

The exchanges at the time highlighted major differences of opinion, as well as a form of misunderstanding or lack of understanding of the various players: the insurers / felt by the installers and vice versa.

We therefore decided at the GMPV-FFB to take the bull by the horns and with the good will of all these actors, we worked to try to answer this question:

"how to ensure that companies installing photovoltaic systems in buildings are properly insured".

implied

"how to convince insurers to continue to insure these companies to implement PV processes".

in this respect, we would like to thank the GMPV for

- the FFA

- COPREC, CSTB and CONSUEL

- CQA and DGEC

- ENERPLAN and the SER

- the CAPEB

for the work carried out, which is only a first step.

As such, the aim of this event is to

1- report on

-> market potential

-> assessment of the insurability of the PV

2- provide a progress report on the work undertaken and what remains to be done

3- to draw up the evolutions observed on the market by the companies that are members of the U/S of our Grouping.

Before giving the floor to C Bozonnat from the DGEC, I would also like to thank all the partners who contributed to the realisation of this event, as well as the team of permanent staff from the GMPV and the FFB who were heavily involved in the organisation of this day.

Our Groupement de Métiers also relies on the commitment of entrepreneurs, and I invite any company that wishes to do so to join us in our work, by showing its interest.I invite any company that wishes to do so to join us in our work, by showing its interest in photovoltaic technology to its local federation, or even to join us during the Technical Commissions that we organise in Paris. The more numerous you are, the more feedback we will get from the field, the better we will be able to respond to the problems you encounter in your everyday life.

Have a nice day
