Engie-Sonnen partnership for self-consumption in France

Engie and Sonnen, a German storage specialist, will offer a solar-plus-storage solution for self-consumption in the French residential market. The battery configuration

ranges from 2.5 to 15 kWh, allowing a self-sufficiency rate of up to 96%. These batteries have already been installed in 30,000 homes around the world.

The two partners point out that the price of electricity has risen by around 20% in the last two years and that a programme is currently encouraging the implementation of solar energy self-consumption projects.

Engie is active through Sungevity's Dutch subsidiary, acquired last year.
