Uniper France is an aggregator and integrator. It develops renewable energies
Uniper France acts as an aggregator for its own renewable energy production and for
various small hydropower producers.
The company also plays the role of integrator: it is the intermediary between the unit that produces the electricity and the network that receives it. There is a safety and technical aspect because the integrator must apply the network manager's instructions so that the energy supplied contributes most effectively to demand without disturbing the balance of the network. Uniper France is the integrator of the largest power plant in France, the Cestas plant.
The company has already halved the share of coal in its energy mix in favour of gas and RE: 4 million tonnes of CO2 have been eliminated. It is completing the conversion of a coal-fired power plant into a biomass power plant in the PACA region at a cost of €300m.
