A new Chinese competition appears on metallization pastes
Taiwanese cell manufacturers have begun trials of metallisation with a Chinese silver paste. As they prefer quality to price, the Chinese product has already convinced enough Taiwanese to try it. On1 January 2015, the Chinese government raised customs duties from 3% to 6.5%. This won't be enough for the world's leading manufacturers (Samsung SDI, DuPont, Heraeus and Giga Solar, which occupy around 90% of the market) to see their domination challenged. But if it's better and cheaper, it would create a certain appeal.
