In 2017, India will become the 3rd largest photovoltaic installer in the world.

India reaches the threshold of 10 GW installed, according to Bridge to India. The country is expected to add 5.1 GW this year.

By 2017, India will be the world's 3rd largest photovoltaic market. The importance of the installations has lowered the cost of installation, as competition is fierce between the different developers. Above all, 80% of installations are carried out in just seven states. Some other states have very large energy needs but are lagging far behind.
