A British study shows the considerable extra cost of nuclear power compared to solar power

A British government study estimates that the megawatt-hour produced by solar power in 2025 will cost between £50 and £75, while that produced by nuclear power at Hinkley Point will be between £85 and £125. This may explain the British decision to postpone the final decision. It should be remembered that nuclear electricity would have been sold on the basis of £92.50 per MWh. The study stresses that the cost of solar and wind power is falling steadily, while the cost of nuclear is rising steadily.
