Situation of the UK energy market on the eve of the exit from Europe
Commentators wonder about the effects of Britain's exit from the European Union. Until now, the UK's energy policy was decided in London and not in Brussels. The electricity sector was liberalised in 1989. Since then, energy has been dominated by market forces alone, with natural gas predominating. The separation of generation assets and the transmission network advocated by the United Kingdom has been extended to the other countries of the Union. The Union's directive (the "third legislative package") of 2009, was considered in London as not very innovative.
