Storage in the United States in 2023

According to the EIA, newly added energy storage capacity with batteries exceeding 1 MW in the United States rose to 3.3 GW in the first seven months of 2023, an impressive increase.

91% year-on-year. In July, the year-on-year increase was 282%, and 46% over June.

Installations in 2023 are expected to reach 9.6 GW (up 133% on 2022). In 2024, 12.3 GW of energy storage is expected to be installed, representing an increase of 28% on 2023.
