The effects of the IRA: Maxeon and Array sign agreements in the USA to produce American products

Maxeon is set to buy Complete Solaria's shingle cell solar patents. It will also buy the operations and distribution contracts. This will give Maxeon

Maxeon will gain "immediate access to a qualified source of duty-free solar panels that we plan to market alongside our flagship IBC solar panels. Maxeon will be able to replicate the 'best' product in the US market. This is the strategy we've been using successfully in our international markets for years," says Maxeon's CEO.

Editor's note It seems that Maxeon has chosen to buy back assets in order to produce in the United States and comply with the law to reduce inflation. It is, of course, the quickest and least expensive way.

US tracker manufacturer Array Technologies has signed two supply agreements, one with an aluminium extrusion manufacturer and the other with a US steel producer, to guarantee its supply of coils for its US projects.

More than 85% of Array Technologies' component portfolio can now be sourced from the US, making it easier for customers to meet the domestic content requirements defined by the IRA.
