A change in India's business rankings

In India, the implementation of basic tariffs on cells and panels and the introduction of an approved list of models and manufacturers has led to a shift in market share in 2022 in India.

Avaada Energy became

India's leading developer of large-scale solar power plants, commissioning the largest capacity in 2022. It was followed by NTPC Renewable Energy and Adani Green Energy, according to Mercom India.

India recorded its highest annual solar installation of 13 GW in 2022. Large utility solar projects accounted for 87% (over 11 GW) of the 13 GW of cumulative installations in 2022. Rooftop solar accounted for around 1.6 GW.

The top 10 developers of large-scale projects accounted for 65% of installations in 2022.

Tata Power Solar dominated the rooftop solar development sector, capturing nearly 27% of the 1.6 GW installed on rooftops in 2022. The combined market share of the top 10 developers accounted for almost 50% of the rooftop solar market during the year.

Sungrow became the leading supplier of string inverters by volume shipped, while Fimer India led the way in the supply of central inverters.

Jinkosolar became India's leading panel supplier in 2022, with Adani Solar the only domestic manufacturer among the top five panel suppliers.

Scorpius Trackers won the top spot as the leading solar tracker supplier.
