New international test standard for photovoltaic inverters

Fraunhofer ISE has announced a new international test standard, IEC 63027, for photovoltaic inverters with integrated arc fault detection systems.

"The less time an arc burns, the lower the energy input at the faulty contact point, i.e. short extinguishing times reliably prevent a fire from starting", said the institution,
