CRE recalls the "sandbox" system

CRE invites project leaders to apply for the regulatory "sandbox" scheme. This mechanism, introduced by the law of 8 November 2019 on energy and climate, makes it possible to support any innovative project leader in the energy sector, and more particularly in the electricity and gas networks, facing legislative or regulatory obstacles.

This system provides a legal framework conducive to the deployment of innovative technologies or services in favour of the energy transition and smart grids and infrastructures, via exemptions granted by the CRE or DGEC to the conditions of access to and use of networks and facilities.

The CRE announced last November that it would henceforth process the files as and when they were received. The system is monitored by the publication of an annual report communicating the progress and results of projects benefiting from exemptions

Innovative project leaders facing a legislative or regulatory obstacle likely to fall within the scope of the "sandbox" can submit their applications on the dedicated platform or contact its services at the following address: bacasable@cre.fr.
