Unclear text secures G7 support

At the G7 Environment, Climate and Energy Ministers' meeting in Sapporo, Japan, the seven member countries of the informal alliance,

Japan (current chair), Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, formulated for the first time common targets for the expansion of renewable energy.

The final declaration includes a target of 150 gigawatts of capacity for offshore wind energy and a cumulative capacity of "more than one terawatt" for photovoltaics by 2030
