Silicon prices have been stabilising for a month

On 8 March, the China Silicon Industry Directorate updated the latest information on silicon material prices, which range from RMB228/kg ($32.79) to RMB215/kg ($30.92) with an average price of RMB226/kg. Since the beginning of March,

the transaction price is RMB 225/kg.

The government agency confirms that China's silicon production capacity will reach 2.4 million tonnes in 2023, double that of 2022. Given this situation, it expects the price of silicon to fall slowly in the future.

Wafer prices have started to stabilise since last week. M10 mono wafers (182 mm/150 μm) are between RMB6.22 and RMB6.25 per piece, with an average transaction price of RMB6.23 per piece, the same as the previous week. Prices for G12 mono wafers (210 mm/150 μm) range from RMB8 to RMB8.2 per piece, with an average transaction price of RMB8.2.

This week, leading companies increased their wafer prices. This comes after wafer production in China increased to 36.4 GW in February, a monthly growth of 15.6%. Several N-type players, such as TCL Zhonguan Yinchuan, Gaojing Yibin and Shuangliang Baotou, have gradually increased their production volumes.
