Implementation of the European Union's emergency procedure in Germany

The German Bundestag has decided to implement the EU emergency ordinance. As a result, for renewable energy production facilities and the extension of electricity grids, it will be possible to

waive, under certain conditions, an environmental impact assessment and a species protection assessment. The precondition is that they are erected in areas previously designated for this purpose.
