The 2023 World Future Energy Summit took place in Abu Dhabi. It revealed that solar in the Middle East is still dominated by large-scale PV. Saudi Arabia,
Egypt and the United Arab Emirates are the most promising markets for large solar projects, with huge projects under development, while Lebanon and Yemen are promising due to chronic energy shortages.
The show attracted most of the heavyweights in the Middle East renewable energy industry, as well as all the major solar panel and inverter manufacturers from China.
Contracts in the region are characterised by very low price offers while trying to maintain control of the supply chain
