Austria's skimming of 'surplus revenue

The Austrian state of Burgenland plans to skim off "surplus revenue" by substantially increasing

the "landscape image tax" for solar and wind power plants. The plan is to increase the annual levy (introduced in 2021) for new wind power plants to 17,600 euros ($17,730) per megawatt, and that for photovoltaic plants to 6,500 euros ($6,548) per hectare. This represents a sixfold and fivefold increase respectively.
