Chinese manufacturers in brief: Canadian Solar inverters, silicon and cells from GCL, LONGi and Jolywood in 2022

Canadian Solar has begun mass production of the inverters developed by its design office. They have

power ranging from 5 kW to 125 kW. In June 2021, CSI announced plans to expand its inverter capacity to 3 GW per year.

GCL Integration is to invest RMB 8 billion ($1.1m) in its TOPCon cell factory in Wuhu (Anhui). It plans to build a plant in two phases of 10 GW each by the end of 2024. It will supply the company's 15 GW panel plant in Hefei, 100 km away.

GCL Technologies has increased its granular silicon production capacity using a fluidised bed reactor to 100,000 tonnes spread over two production units. FBR-based silicon production accounts for more than 10% of total silicon production in China.

LONGi shipped 60 GW of wafers in the first nine months of this year. Production of photovoltaic panels over the same period exceeded 30 GW. A 15 GW cell production line in Xi'an (Shaanxi) was commissioned.

In the first three quarters of this year, Jolywood achieved sales of RMB 7.6 billion, and profits of RMB 343 million (+366% on 2021).
