Public enquiry on France's energy mix
Following the announcement by the President of the Republic, a public enquiry is being conducted on France's energy mix for 2050. The entire population can express its views on the major choices to be made
Here are two examples of questions asked about photovoltaics:
2.5 - The development of photovoltaic energy (1st question)
In the different scenarios of the RTE study "Energy Futures 2050", France will have between 70 GW and 214 GW of photovoltaic capacity in 2050, i.e. respectively 5 and 16 times the capacity installed at the end of 2021 (13 GW). Measures to develop photovoltaic projects on buildings, car parks and industrial and commercial sites will continue. However, ground-mounted PV projects will be needed.
In order to reach these objectives, what are the two main issues to be taken into account in the development of a photovoltaic project (2 answers to choose from)?
Its visibility and landscape impact
Its impact in terms of land use
Its impact on biodiversity
Its local financial impact (for the community or local residents)
Its national financial impact in order to keep the price of electricity competitive for consumers
The participation of local communities or citizens in the governance of the project
Consultation with all local stakeholders throughout the project design process

2.6 - Development of photovoltaic energy (2nd question)
In the various scenarios of the RTE study "Energy Futures 2050", France has between 70 GW and 214 GW of photovoltaic capacity in 2050, i.e. respectively 5 and 16 times the capacity installed at the end of 2021 (13 GW). Measures to develop photovoltaic projects on buildings, car parks and industrial and commercial sites will continue. However, ground-mounted PV projects will be needed.
In your opinion, the development of photovoltaic projects should rather be achieved by (1 answer to choose from) :
Small projects, but spread over the territory.
Small-scale projects, specifically on roofs and at private homes, with the accompanying impact on heritage.
Large-scale ground-based projects allowing the concentration of photovoltaic production in a few well-defined areas and limiting the associated costs
A mix of these solutions
