New Italian guidelines for agrivoltaic installations

Italy publishes new national guidelines for agrivoltaic installations

On 27 June, guidelines for the design, construction and operation of agrivoltaic installations were published in Italy by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. From now on,

developers and, in general, system owners should take into account the following principles in order for their systems to be classified as agrivoltaic.

They are intended to clarify the minimum characteristics and requirements that a photovoltaic system must have to be considered "Agrivoltaic". They distinguish between two types of systems:

- Agrivoltaic systems that can, as a minimum, ensure an interaction between energy production and agricultural production;

- Advanced agrivoltaic systems, which can also benefit from incentives.

The article details the different measures, and the requirements.

The details of the measures are particularly extensive and varied. Interested readers should refer to the document
