The Spanish government wants to recoup some of the energy price rises
The Spanish government has relaunched the legislative process to introduce new electricity market regulations. The aim is to reduce income from production facilities
non-CO2 emitting plants installed before 2003. The aim is to contain, on a permanent basis, the impact of the rise in the price ofCO2 emission allowances on Spanish consumers by recovering the "excessive revenues" that would have been received by certainnon-CO2 emitting installations.
Various producer associations are opposed to the adoption of this measure
