53 GW installed in China in 2021,including 29 GW distributed

In 2021, 53 GW were installed in China, according to the National Energy Administration of China (NEA), compared with 48.2 GW in 2020 (+10%). Distributed installations reached

29 GW (including 21.5 GW of residential installations. This is the first time that the distributed sector has reached around 55%; it is also the first time that it has accounted for more than half of total installations in China.

The cumulative volume of distributed photovoltaic installations in China reached 107 GW, or a third of the total solar capacity connected to the Chinese grid.
