Development of installations in France partly thanks to the 500 kWp threshold

In France, 500,000 photovoltaic installations with a capacity of 11 GW are now connected to the electricity distribution network managed by Enedis.

over 95% of the country. Enedis is continuing its policy of modernising the electricity network and integrating these renewable energies while maintaining the quality of the power supply.

The increase to 500 kW of the power ceiling for photovoltaic projects on buildings, hangars and shaded areas benefiting from the feed-in tariff makes it easier to develop projects on large roofs and shaded areas. This decree makes it easier to develop projects on large roofs and shaded areas, since all projects up to 500 kWp (kilowatt-peak : power that can be delivered by the photovoltaic installation under optimum conditions), i.e. around 4.000 m² of surface area, will be directly entitled to a feed-in tariff without having to go through a call for tenders (compared with a threshold set at 100 kW before 6 October 2021).
